Spring 2017: The Next Community Choice Feasibility Study
Background December 15, 2015, the San Diego City Council approved the City's Climate Action Plan (CAP) with an unanimous vote. See Union-Tribune coverage of the vote and of the Plan here.
The CAP commits the City to cutting emissions of greenhouse gases 50% by 2035. CAP Strategy 2.1 names "Community Choice Aggregation" as a core step to reach CAP objectives. By 2020, emission reductions from a CCA beat other strategies, and by 2035, CCA-created emissions reductions dwarf those from any other CAP step.

San Diego CCA Feasibility The technical feasibility of implementing a Community Choice program is well proven in the experience of the now-five operating CCAs statewide. Nonetheless, the CAP committed the City to examine the feasibility of creating a program in the City.
